Job summary

Building Structures Practice in London is seeking an experienced engineer to join a team of six engineers. The role focuses on complex urban schemes across residential, commercial, and education sectors, with regular site visits and client contact.

You will contribute from concept through to delivery, with progress toward Chartered status with IStructE or ICE. The successful candidate will hold a degree in civil or structural engineering (2:1) and have four or more years in consulting

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified engineer with a 2:1 in civil or structural engineering.
• Four or more years of consulting engineering experience, focused on building structures.
• Willingness to work on varied new and refurbishment projects using steel, concrete, masonry, timber and composites.

This is an opportunity to collaborate with celebrated UK architects and to make a valuable contribution from concept to completion. You will be involved in detailed design and delivery, steadily taking on more ownership of projects as your expertise develops. Their London office is home to over seventy engineers and technicians, most of whom are structural engineering specialists.

Your Role:

You will join a project team of six engineers led by an associate, the workload will predominantly consist of complex schemes in urban environments for the residential, commercial and education sectors. There will be regular site visits and interaction with clients, your design and lateral thinking skills will be fully challenged, project delivery is a joint effort requiring your full involvement with input at concept stages, detail design and delivery. You will be expected to learn and progress, emphasis is placed on continued professional development, and you will be supported to achieve chartered status through the IStructE or ICE.

Your Profile:

A degree qualified engineer with a 2:1 in civil or structural engineering. Four or more years of consulting engineering experience, with a focus on building structures. A willingness to work on varied new and refurbishment projects utilising steel, concrete, masonry, timber and composites. The ability to work effectively within this project team will require good interpersonal and communication skills.
