Job Opportunity: Structural Engineer at Hydrock (Now Stantec)

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer to join our highly regarded, award-winning Civil & Structural team within our Hydrock Edinburgh office.

We offer a people-focused culture, engaging projects, and a clear progression structure. As part of our national Civil and Structural team (250+ employees), you'll have the chance to collaborate with divisions such as MEP, Nuclear, and Smart Energy & Sustainability.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Delivery of scheme and concept designs.
  2. Preparation of detailed design, tender, and construction packages.
  3. Preparation of calculation packages for Building Control submissions.
  4. Participation in client, design, and site meetings.
  5. Managing and developing engineers and technicians.
  6. Liaising with statutory authorities, architects, and contractors.
  7. Preparing fee proposals and contributing to project bids and ITTs.
Candidate Attributes:
  • MEng or BEng in civil or structural engineering.
  • Chartered or Associate membership of IStructE/ICE, or working towards Chartership.
  • Self-motivated team player with strong communication, analysis, technical design, and drawing skills.
  • Experience with analysis and design software.
  • Ability to perform hand calculations.
  • Understanding of BIM Level 2 requirements.
  • Developing marketing and business development skills.
  • Ambitious with alignment to our values and a desire to contribute to Hydrock's success.
