Job description

Structural Engineer Position

We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join our consultancy based in Chorley. The core purpose of this role is to ensure the application of best Structural Engineering design practices within the office. This position is suitable for a recently qualified Structural Engineer with at least 3 years' experience in the consultancy sector, particularly in residential and commercial buildings.

Position Overview
  • Mentoring less experienced team members
  • Managing multiple projects and clients simultaneously
  • Supporting principal engineers and directors
  • Ensuring quality deliverables and client satisfaction
  • Adhering to industry-recognized processes and procedures
  • Applying fundamental structural engineering knowledge and principles
  • Working on innovative and sustainable projects across various sectors including residential, commercial, and industrial
  • Utilizing AutoCAD, Masterseries, TEDDS, STAAD.Pro, SCIA, and Revit
  • Preparing reports and conducting site visits
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years' experience in structural design, including steelwork, reinforced concrete, and masonry, compliant with Euro Code standards
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Masterseries, and TEDDS
  • Understanding of STAAD.Pro, SCIA, and Revit
  • Ability to produce detailed structural calculations and sketches
  • Experience in preparing construction drawings and specifications
  • Commercial awareness regarding costing, budgets, and quotations
  • Willingness to work towards or near Chartered Status
