Job description

Structural Engineer

Our client, a well-established structural design consultancy with 47 years of industry experience, is known for its strong reputation and long-standing client relationships. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer.

Projects range from small domestic developments and bespoke new builds to large-scale industrial units valued in the millions. The successful Structural Engineer will be technically proficient, confident liaising with clients, and possess a thorough knowledge of UK Building Regulations and Design Codes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering technical work independently.
  • Conducting site inspections and liaising directly with clients.
  • Reviewing and approving the work of Junior Engineers and leading a team of designers.
  • Utilising relevant software such as AutoCAD, Tedds, Masterseries, etc.
  • Performing structural surveys (e.g., subsidence and structural defect reports).

Requirements

  • Chartered Structural Engineer (MIStructE or MICE)
  • Minimum 5 years post-chartership experience
  • Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and Design Code
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with structural design software (AutoCAD, Tedds, Masterseries)
