Laing O'Rourke invites ambitious students to join its Industry Placement Programme as a Structural Engineer summer placement. You will work on live precast projects within the Explore Manufacturing Design Centre, gaining hands-on experience in design, analysis and collaboration across disciplines.

This 12-month placement offers exposure to manufacture, lifting, installation and value engineering while supporting professional accreditation and career development in construction and engineering.

Competenze

• Experience in designing and checking structural solutions for precast products.
• Ability to provide value engineering balancing safety, cost and sustainability.
• Support tender and pre-construction teams with structural input.
• Innovate in materials and design to reduce carbon and waste.
• Collaborate across disciplines to meet client needs and maximise efficiency.
• Pursue professional accreditation (ICE/IStructE) toward Chartership.
