Job summary

Lodestone Recruitment is assisting a well-established structural steelwork business in Barnsley to recruit an experienced Structural Draughtsman. You will produce fabrication and erection drawings, 3D models, and material schedules for a range of steel projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

The role requires reading drawings, applying British Standards and Eurocodes, and collaborating with engineers, PMs and fabricators.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Structural Draughtsman/Detailer or similar role.
• Confident reading structural/architectural drawings.
• Experience updating drawings per design changes and client feedback.

Responsibilities

• Produce fabrication/erection drawings and 3D models.
• Generate GA drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, cutting lists.
• Review drawings and resolve technical queries with engineers, PMs and fabricators.
• Ensure compliance with British Standards and Eurocodes.
• Update drawings for design changes and site needs.

Lodestone Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established structural steelwork business for an experienced structural steelwork to join their growing team, producing fabrication and erection drawings, 3D models, and material schedules for a range of structural steel projects.

The role

• Produce fabrication/erection drawings and 3D models using Tekla Structures or Advance Steel
• Generate GA drawings, assembly drawings, bolt lists, BOMs, and cutting lists
• Review engineering/architectural drawings and resolve technical queries with engineers, PMs, and fabricators
• Ensure compliance with British Standards and Eurocodes
• Update drawings for design changes, client feedback, and site needs

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Structural Steelwork Detailer or Structural Design Engineer/ Draughtsman
• Confident reading structural/architectural drawings
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organisation
• HNC/HND or degree in a related discipline preferred (or equivalent experience)

Desirable: BIM workflow knowledge, CNC data experience (DSTV/NC files), CE/UKCA familiarity, AutoCAD
