Job Description:

We are seeking a Structural Design Delivery Lead to oversee structural engineering for high-voltage substation and power infrastructure projects (11kV–132kV and above) in Glasgow.

This senior, hands-on leadership role reports directly to the Engineering Manager. You will lead structural design from concept to construction, coordinate teams, manage sub-contractors, and serve as the main technical contact for clients and site teams.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading structural design across multiple projects
• Managing interfaces between design teams, subcontractors, and construction
• Conducting design reviews, IDRs, HAZOPs, and compliance checks
• Ensuring designs are practical and constructible
• Providing guidance on temporary works and safety
• Supporting site teams with queries and inspections
• Advising on civil/structural issues, land consents, CDM, and UK standards

Requirements:

• Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (Chartered preferred)
• Experience in lead design roles for substations, power plants, or infrastructure
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage subcontractors
• Knowledge of CDM, British Standards, and site delivery
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement
• Proficiency in MS Office; Primavera P6 or CAD is a plus
• Full UK driving license
