Job summary

Ross-Shire Engineering Limited (RSE) is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our in-house Design team on a permanent basis. You will take a leading role in projects, ensuring designs comply with client specs and current regulatory standards, while liaising with stakeholders across the business.

The role requires a degree in engineering, experience with structural steelwork and Finite Element Analysis, knowledge of British Standards/Eurocodes, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience of structural steelwork, connection design and detailing.
• Knowledge of design codes and standards (British Standards and Eurocodes).
• Analyses of structures for stress and deflection using hand calculations and FEA.
• Knowledge of piping systems is advantageous.
• Strong IT skills and ability to work under pressure with accuracy.
• Good written and verbal communications skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

What Are We Looking For?

Our Asset Management business platform is looking for a Structural Engineer to join their in-house Design team on a permanent basis. You will take on a fully supported leading role in all aspects of projects, ensuring compliance with client specifications and current regulatory standards.

Some of Your Key Duties Include:

• Liaise with Client and stakeholders across the business.
• Produce preliminary and detailed designs.
• Compile design specifications.
• Compile reports and communicate design data to the client and others.
• Comply with company quality assurance procedures.
• Complete required deliverables within allocated project time scales.

What Do You Need?

• Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience of structural steelwork, connection design and detailing.
• Working knowledge of design codes and standards preferably relating to structural engineering such as British Standards and Eurocodes.
• Analyses of structures for stress and deflection using both hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis.
• Knowledge of piping systems would be an advantage.
• Good knowledge of IT packages and systems.
• The ability to work under pressure quickly and accurately with attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communications skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence
