I am currently seeking a Structural Design Delivery Lead to oversee structural engineering delivery across high-voltage substation and power infrastructure projects (11kV–132kV and above).

This senior, hands-on leadership role reports directly to the Engineering Manager. You will lead structural design from concept to construction handover, coordinate internal teams, manage sub-contractors, and act as the key technical contact for clients and site teams.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading the structural design function across multiple projects
• Managing interfaces between design teams, sub-contractors, and construction
• Conducting design reviews, IDRs, HAZOPs, and compliance checks
• Ensuring designs are practical and constructible
• Providing guidance on temporary works and safety
• Supporting site teams with design queries and inspections
• Advising on civil/structural matters, land consents, CDM, and UK compliance

Candidate requirements:

• Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (Chartered preferred)
• Experience in lead design roles for substations, power plants, or infrastructure
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and sub-contractors
• Knowledge of CDM, British Standards, and site delivery
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder management
• Proficiency in MS Office; Primavera P6 or CAD is a bonus
• Full UK driving license
