Overview

We are recruiting for a Structural Design Engineer to work in our Building Engineering Team in the Milton Keynes office.

We offer an agile, hybrid working environment. The business is growing, presenting an opportunity to deliver quality engineering solutions and designs for residential and mixed‑use development projects that meet client expectations.

What you’ll be doing

• Produce structural designs of residential and mixed‑use projects of varying scale and complexity, working individually or as part of a design team.
• Conduct site visits and assist the project lead with structural surveys, investigations and repair schemes for structures from fires to foundation issues.
• Independent management of projects.
• Financial responsibility for own projects.
• Assist in the preparation of fee quotations and invoicing.
• Work in collaboration with senior stakeholders and clients.

Who we’re looking for

• Degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering; ideally working towards chartership with ICE, IStructE or equivalent.
• Experience in the design of foundations, masonry, concrete (including detailing), steel and timber structures to Eurocodes.
• Experience in the residential market including traditional construction as well as framed structures.
• Preferably experienced in structural investigations of low to medium rise residential structures.
• Familiar with relevant design software, such as Tekla (Tekla Designer and Tedds) and ideally AutoCAD/Revit.
• Ability to make decisions and work independently.
• Good communication skills.
