Job summary

Kingdom People is seeking a Senior Structural Design Engineer in the UK to lead complex structural steelwork projects. You will manage design teams, liaise with clients and drive technical solutions across projects.

The role requires a strong background in steel member and connections design, proficiency with Tekla software, and a track record in delivering projects on time while maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience in structural steelwork design.
• Experience with Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Portal Designer and MasterSeries.
• Engineering degree in Structural or Civil Engineering; Incorporated/Chartered status preferred.
• Temporary works design experience is advantageous.
• Strong communication and coordination skills; mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Manage structural steelwork design projects from initial design through to completion.
• Undertake structural steel member design and steelwork connection design.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, codes and QA procedures.
• Coordinate design information with clients, engineers, architects and subcontractors.
• Raise technical queries and resolve design issues to progress projects.
• Ensure projects are delivered within budget and timescales.
• Attend project meetings and liaise with internal departments.
• Report to Head of Design and contribute to project delivery.
• Support development and training of graduate design engineers.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and deliver excellent service.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and AQ company values.
• Work in accordance with established quality assurance procedures.

experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer to join its team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established engineer with
strong technical expertise and project management capabilities to
play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage structural steelwork design projects from initial design through to completion.
• Undertake structural steel member design and steelwork connection design.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years' experience in structural steelwork design.
• A degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, ideally working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.
• Strong experience in structural steel member design and steelwork connection design.
• Good working knowledge of relevant design codes, standards and engineering principles.
• Experience using Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Portal Designer and MasterSeries design software.
• Experience in temporary works design would be advantageous.
• Proven ability to manage projects, work independently and take initiative.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving, technical queries and project delivery.
• A commitment to quality, continuous improvement and mentoring junior engineers.
