Overview

Structural CAE Engineer - Crash & Safety - Permanent role - Salary range £35,000 to £48,000 PA, dependant upon qualifications and professional experience.

What You Will Do

• Conduct structural simulations, impact analysis, and optimisation studies to enhance the performance of powertrain components and vehicles.
• Perform crash and safety simulations for vehicle structures, battery enclosures, and restraint systems using LS-DYNA.
• Develop and refine finite element models with pre/post-processing tools like HyperMesh, ANSA, or similar software.
• Collaborate with design, test, and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with global crash regulations and standards.
• Analyse data, present results, and deliver actionable design recommendations to internal and customer teams.
• Support knowledge sharing within the team and contribute to internal presentations and training sessions.

What You Will Bring

• A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• Proven experience in structural CAE simulations, particularly for electric powertrains and batteries.
• Expertise in LS-DYNA and proficiency in tools such as HyperMesh, LS-PrePost, or ANSA.
• A solid understanding of crash mechanics, material modelling, and occupant safety.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate technical information effectively across disciplines.
