Job summary

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Consultant in Stroke Medicine to join the stroke multidisciplinary team at Kings Mill Hospital, Mansfield. The role involves managing hyper-acute and acute stroke care, contributing to the on-call rota, and delivering high-quality patient outcomes.

The service handles ~800 stroke admissions annually with a commitment to advanced imaging, timely carotid interventions, and strong rehabilitation pathways across hospital and community settings.

Qualifications

• Full and Specialist GMC registration or be eligible within six months of interview.
• Membership of Royal College of Physicians or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in Stroke Medicine and ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the acute medical on-call as skills allow.
• Oversee hyper-acute/acute stroke care pathways and patient flow.
• Contribute to service development and teaching within the MDT.
