Job summary

NHS National Services Scotland is seeking an enthusiastic Stroke Administrator for a fixed term/secondment of 12 months within the Directorate. The role requires excellent communication and teamwork, with the ability to work independently and use initiative.

You will handle clinical information, access multiple IT systems, and contribute to local and national reporting while adhering to data protection and confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Working knowledge of IT applications including databases; experience with clinical databases preferred.
  • Good keyboarding skills; ability to prioritise tasks and work to timescales.
  • Experience collecting clinical information and accessing multiple systems for local and national reporting; familiarity with data storage and processing of patient information.

Job description

Fixed term/ Secondment opportunity for 12 months to cover substantive post holder.

*Secondment Opportunity – Existing permanent employees must first discuss this opportunity with their substantive line manager and complete the secondment request form prior to interview. The secondment request form and the associated secondment policy can be found on the HR/Recruitment intranet pages and must be completed and signed by the substantive line manager. The Candidate should then take it with them to interview as confirmation that an agreement has been granted.

An exciting position has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to undertake the role of Stroke Administrator within the above Directorate.

It is essential that you are an excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills, being able to work on your own, using initiative, as well as working as part of a team. Required to pay attention to detail, work with other disciplines in a sensitive manner and to have knowledge of medical terminology.

You will have a working knowledge of IT applications, including databases and ideally SSCAS database or similar clinical databases along with a good knowledge of office procedures.

You should have good keyboarding skills and able to prioritise tasks to enable you to work within a timescale. You will have skills in the collection of clinical information, accessing multiple systems and in sharing data for local and national reporting. Utilize data systems developed by Public Health Scotland and other internal/external bodies for secure storage, processing and administration of patient information.

Very good organisational skills and flexibility in approach to work are also essential.
