Job Description:

Our Aerospace client based in Bristol, UK, requires several Stress Engineers on a contractor basis to support their programs. The role offers a hybrid working model of 3 days onsite per week and 2 days remote.

Responsibilities include stress analysis of aerostructures, assessing composite and metallic design solutions using classical stress methods and finite element analysis. Candidates should be capable of conducting various stress analyses, including strength, stiffness, buckling, stability, fastener and joint strength, as well as composite damage tolerance analysis.

Applicants should have a good understanding of structural design, such as Wingbox design, load and stiffness requirements, and load interface design. Experience with finite element analysis tools like Nastran, Patran, and Simcenter 3D is required, including creating, modifying, and post-processing FEM models.

The role involves generating stress documentation, working independently, guiding other engineers, resolving technical issues, developing methods and approaches, assessing technical risks, and interpreting design data.

Deliverables include project reports, technical data, and participation in reviews. Support for product qualification and compliance documentation is also expected.

Analysis tools used include Nastran/Patran, Simcenter 3D, and HyperX. Collaboration within a team is essential, with a close level of team working required due to the onsite presence of 3 days per week. The position is offered under an inside IR35 basis, paid PAYE through Strongfield Consultants.
