Job summary

Dumfries and Galloway Council is hiring a Grounds Maintenance Operative to work across parks, cemeteries, and open spaces. You will cut grass, trim hedges, clear leaves and litter, and assist in burial services as needed. A current driving licence is essential, and PVG scheme checks apply.

The role requires 36 hours per week, including potential evening and weekend work, and a willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Training and safety protocols are provided.

Qualifications

• Standard Grade Level education.
• Current driving licence is essential.
• Experience in horticultural work is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain public parks, cemeteries, and open spaces including grass cutting and hedge trimming.
