Job description

An opportunity is available for a Street Works Assistant working in our Castle Donington depot. Reporting to the Street Works Team Leader, you will carry out street works administration for National Grid’s operational teams. Showcasing your knowledge of street works legislation and excellent communication skills, you’ll be able to advise and explain street works processes to internal and external stakeholders.

As part of our hybrid working approach, this role offers a mix of office and home working. Hybrid working can only be considered once your initial training is complete and is subject to business need.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Issuing compliant street works permits & notices and associated notifications in relevant systems for operational teams.
  2. Being a point of contact for operational teams, providing guidance on street works matters.
  3. Liaising with Highway Authorities regarding street works activities.
  4. Coordinating with contractors on street works performance and compliance.
  5. Dealing with non-compliances, including inspections, penalties, and charges.
  6. Raising and paying invoices.
  7. Updating systems to ensure accurate data records.
  8. Representing the Streetworks team in meetings, virtually or in person.
  9. Supporting internal training and answering street works calls.
  10. Traveling as required to meet stakeholders.
