Job description

Neway are looking for a Street Scene & Waste Operative to join our client based with Plymouth City Council.

Location: Chelson Meadow, Plymouth
Duration: 11 August 2025 – 5 September 2025 (possibly extended)
Hours: 37 hours/week | Monday to Friday | 06:00 – 14:30

Pay: PAYE: £12.85/hour

Umbrella/Ltd: £15.53/hour

About the Role
Plymouth City Council is seeking a reliable and hardworking Street Scene & Waste Operative to support waste collection services during annual leave cover. Based at Chelson Meadow, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and environmental standards of the city.

Key Responsibilities
Assist drivers with the loading of bins and bulky waste items

Ensure safe and efficient handling of waste materials

Support the team in delivering high-quality street scene services

Follow health and safety procedures at all times

What We’re Looking For
Physically fit and able to handle manual labour tasks

Punctual, dependable, and team-oriented

Previous experience in waste management or manual labour is desirable

Willingness to work early morning shifts
