About the role

Connect Plus services are seeking to appoint a Street Lighting Engineer to join our team on the M25 DBFO project. This position involves undertaking design projects, managing timelines and external consultants, and ensuring effective communication among team members, the supply chain, and stakeholders.

What you'll be doing

  1. Assist in planning, organizing, and overseeing design projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
  2. Undertake lighting designs using Lighting Reality design or similar software.
  3. Prepare and maintain design documentation, including project briefs, timelines, and works information.
  4. Manage external consultants undertaking designs.
  5. Review design outputs for accuracy and consistency, ensuring alignment with project goals, DMRB, and standards.
  6. Collect and organize feedback from supply chain, client, and internal teams, ensuring effective communication.
  7. Stay updated on DMRB, changes in standards, and best practices, sharing insights with the team.

Who we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or related field preferred.
  • ILP Exterior Lighting Diploma preferred.
  • Proven experience in highway lighting projects.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with DMRB, MCHW, and relevant regulations and standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Passion for design and teamwork.
  • Membership of a professional body.
  • Professional qualification or working towards one.
