Our client is looking for a Street Cleaner to join their operations team for an immediate start and to cover weekends. The role is based in York City Centre and is for an initial 3 months, with the opportunity of going permanent.

This is a weekend role only, 16 hours a week, working Saturday & Sunday. There are additional unsociable hours and weekend enhancements to the rate of pay.

The rate of pay is £12.77 per hour. PPE clothing will be provided.

You MUST;

• Hold a current full UK driving licence
• Be used to working outdoors
• Be physically fit, comfortable dealing with members of the public and happy to drive vehicles upto 3.5 tonnes.

The purpose of this role is to carry out street cleansing within the city centre. The role will involve:

• Driving mechanical sweepers/washers
• Working with a range of pedestrian controlled mechanical equipment
• De-littering allocated areas (pavements, roadways and street furniture) using both mechanical and manual methods
• Working outdoors in all weathers, all of the time and there will be daily contact with dirt, dust and traffic noise.
