Job summary

Ball Corporation in Luton is seeking a Portfolio Manager within the Strategy & Commercial Operations team for a maternity cover period. You will report to the Director Strategy & Agenda and support across strategy, analytics and operations, translating data into actionable business insights.

The role requires proven experience leading cross-functional programmes, strong data literacy, and the ability to coordinate stakeholders across regions.

Qualifications

• Degree-level education in business, science, engineering, analytics or a related discipline.
• Experience leading programmes or significant cross-functional projects within a global organisation or complex business environment.
• Experience coordinating multicultural and geographically dispersed teams and senior stakeholders.
• Experience turning data and analysis into business recommendations and management communications.
• Experience working across commercial, strategy, operations, supply chain, finance or analytics environments.
• Experience supporting executive reviews, strategic projects or business-planning activities.
• Functional experience in Commercial, Strategy, Analytics, Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics or Procurement is desirable.
• Strong data literacy and ability to interpret and communicate analytical outputs.
• Project and programme management tools, methods and practices for complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Understanding of business performance drivers, portfolio management and strategic planning processes.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Power BI, Word, SharePoint and project-management tools is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end strategic initiatives and cross-functional programmes and projects.
• Coordinate internal and external resources to deliver outcomes on time, within scope and within budget.
• Develop clear project scopes, objectives, plans, milestones and governance with stakeholders.
• Manage dependencies, resources, risks, issues, changes and decisions across workstreams.
• Monitor performance, maintain project documentation and report to management.
• Support strategy deployment by driving initiatives that contribute to growth.
• Maintain portfolio visibility including progress, risks and resource requirements.
• Assist the Director Strategy & Agenda with programme management processes, tools and templates for collaboration.
• Analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Translate analytics into clear insights, recommendations and narratives for stakeholders.
• Support preparation of business reviews, presentations and management updates.
