Job summary

SMBC Group in London is seeking a Head of Business Platforms Transformation to lead the strategic, technology‑driven transformation across Markets, Payments, Loans and Cash Management. You will define the roadmap, align stakeholders and drive measurable value through disciplined execution.

The role requires deep experience in regulated financial services, strong executive communication and the ability to translate business ambition into technology choices across global teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience defining and embedding business and technology strategy within a regulated financial services environment, with evidence of shaping executive decisions and delivering measurable business outcomes.
• Strong business expertise in at least one of Markets, Payments, Loans or Cash Management.
• Experience leading cross‑functional strategy and transformation initiatives across large, global organisations.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously evolve the Business Platforms strategy, setting the strategic narrative, target state, priorities and multi‑year roadmap in partnership with key business and technology stakeholders.
• Build a detailed understanding of business strategy, client needs and platform capabilities to translate into actionable recommendations.
• Maintain an informed view of market offerings, vendors and trends to inform investment choices and roadmaps.
• Define KPIs, maturity indicators and adoption measures to track embedding of the strategy and drive progress.
