Team/Role Overview

The Project / Program Manager (Vice President), Internal Audit will play a key role in making Internal Audit’s strategic change successful, providing program execution expertise to deliver necessary change, and driving best practices in change adoption.

  • The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and advisory, commercial awareness of banking and internal auditing or related fields, elevated skills in executive communication and building effective partnerships, the ability to convince stakeholders, drive progress, and resilience to operate in a fast-changing environment.
What you will do
  • Drive progress on strategic initiatives as Project / Program Manager and ensure compliance with governance procedures in Internal Audit and at Citi. Partner with project owners/teams to align outcomes with the strategic target state.
  • Develop project management artifacts following best practices and governance standards.
  • Contribute to establishing and maintaining Change Management governance for IA.
  • Ensure IA-wide changes are prioritized and well-coordinated across teams, considering key stakeholder requirements.
  • Integrate change management activities into project plans in partnership with project teams.
  • Manage change adoption and resistance, including training strategies, alongside IA Communications and Engagement team and IA Change Manager.
  • Conduct change impact assessments to identify affected stakeholders, risks, and readiness, proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Assess and manage risks and issues impacting project delivery, executing mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Ensure IA’s processes and procedures comply with Citi’s Project Management Policy (CPPM) and related standards. Maintain the project management tools and serve as the point of contact for CPPM activities.
What we will need from you
  • Experience in financial services, preferably in internal auditing or related functions.
  • Knowledge of technology and data-related change is preferred.
  • Advanced project management skills; PMP certification preferred.
  • Change adoption skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to influence diverse audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving and resilience skills to navigate conflicts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for stakeholder influence and negotiation.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred.
