Job description

At Compare the Market (CtM), our purpose is to make great financial decision-making a breeze for everyone, and that purpose drives us every day.

It’s why we’re on a mission to create an automated quoting engine, with the simplest of experiences, wrapped in a brand everyone loves!

We change lives by making it simple to switch and save money, and that’s why good things happen when you meerkat.

We’d love you to be part of our journey.

We are recruiting for a Strategy and New Ventures Manager, which sits within our Commercial Finance & Strategy team. You will support the Senior Manager on the identification, prioritisation, launch, and growth management of new products that CtM doesn't offer to customers today. You will take the lead on specific products/workstreams, developing deep insight into the business model, customer challenges and demands, profit pool opportunity, and/or capability of potential partners and competitors.

We hope to see strong execution skills, coordinating work across a broad range of cross-functional teams to facilitate a smooth launch process and effectively deliver on growth opportunities post-launch.

This is a highly exciting and growing area of the business to be working in, where no one day is the same as you leverage your strategic, commercial, product, and project management skillset.

Everyone is welcome.

We have a culture of creativity. We approach our work passionately, improve constantly, and celebrate our wins at every turn. We are an inclusive workplace, and our employees are comfortable bringing their authentic, whole selves to work. Everyone is welcome. Be you.

This means we’re excited to hear from people with a range of skills, experiences, and ideas.

Our people bring our purpose to life.

We champion a culture of innovation and challenge.

Some of the fantastic things you will be involved in:

  1. Work in close collaboration with the Senior Manager to understand customer needs and markets for new products, developing a strategy for CtM to deliver.
  2. Lead Request For Information (RFI) processes, proactively developing direct relationships with market participants that could deliver compelling commercial and customer outcomes.
  3. Identify, evaluate, and pursue new Partnerships and/or value chain opportunities, utilising a variety of data sources to inform the approach.
  4. Lead the onboarding process internally and with partners, with support from a broad range of cross-functional teams (including Legal, Compliance, Data, Tech, Product, Customer Ops, and more).
  5. In collaboration with the Partner and relevant internal teams, identify, execute, and evaluate the impact of growth opportunities once a new product has been launched to see whether it can achieve the desired success metrics.
  6. Identify, monitor, and mitigate Risks proactively with a strong understanding of relevant regulatory requirements (supported by relevant teams). Discharge responsibilities with due care and diligence, ensuring these regulatory requirements are met.
  7. Protect the customer through robust due diligence, execution, and third-party management, ensuring appropriate policies and frameworks are followed to evidence good customer outcomes.

There’s something for everyone.

You’ll ideally have:

  • A [commercial AND / OR product background] and we’d love a bit of consultancy experience, but this is purely desirable.
  • A growth mindset and comfortable operating at a higher level of detail to inform the strategy.
  • Strong communication style and ability to influence stakeholders and partners.
  • Commercial focus and ability to interpret data from multiple sources to feed into decision-making.
  • Comfortable following a test-and-learn approach, with the aim to iterate and improve over time.
  • Experience of managing partners, including relevant governance.
  • Experience in the launch or material change in a product – e.g., CX, QA, business readiness, training/onboarding processes, stakeholder management/monitoring/rollback plans, etc.

We’re a place of opportunity. You’ll have the tools and autonomy to drive your own career, supported by a team of talented people.

And then there’s our benefits. For us, it’s not just about a competitive salary and hybrid working; we care about what matters to you.

From a generous holiday allowance and private healthcare to an electric car scheme and paid development, wellbeing and CSR days, we’ve got you covered!

*Please let us know if you need any reasonable adjustments ahead of an interview.*
