Job summary

Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service is seeking a Project Support Officer to join the Strategy & Improvement team. The role centres on governance, reporting, and delivering a portfolio of projects to enhancements in service delivery.

You will assist project leads, manage documentation, and help drive stakeholder engagement. The role requires some travel and offers flexible/agile working arrangements with a benefits package.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths at grade A*-C or 9–4, or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Appropriate project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2 Foundation) or equivalent demonstrable experience.

Responsibilities

• Supporting Project Leads and stakeholders with planning, governance and delivery of projects and programmes.
• Facilitating Programme Board activity, coordinating and quality assuring project documentation, reporting and governance processes.
• Monitoring project progress, risks, issues, dependencies and benefits, providing information and analysis for decision-making.
• Producing and maintaining project documentation, reports, MI and governance records throughout the lifecycle.
• Supporting project engagement and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Developing project scopes, plans and delivery approaches with Project Leads and managers.
• Supporting evaluation of completed projects to identify outcomes, benefits and lessons learned.
• Collating and analysing information from multiple projects to provide a corporate overview of performance, risks and interdependencies.
• Promoting consistent project management standards and good practice across the Service.
• Supporting wider Strategy & Improvement activities and organisational change.
