The Role

This is a unique opportunity to join a newly created role within a dynamic team in Canopius’ fast-paced and rapidly expanding international insurance business.

From day one, you will contribute to the development of Canopius’ strategic direction and delivery, interacting with a wide range of business stakeholders on various projects and topics.

The Strategy & Foresight Manager has a broad remit, supporting the creation and execution of key strategic projects for Canopius Group. They will partner with the business to help build, implement, and embed Canopius’s Innovation Framework and activities, and support the overall Strategic Planning programme and project management of operational priorities.

Responsibilities Will Include

  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive innovation strategy aligned with Canopius' business objectives and market trends, ensuring innovation is embedded across capabilities, underwriting, and regional business units.
  2. Facilitate the execution of innovation ideas, including assisting with business cases and resource allocation.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as underwriting, actuarial, and technology to bring projects to fruition.
  4. Establish and monitor metrics to evaluate the success of strategy and innovation projects, refining strategies based on performance data.
  5. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote a culture of innovation and secure buy-in for new initiatives.
  6. Conduct market analysis to identify new opportunities and anticipate industry trends.
  7. Partner with the business to develop next-generation insurance products for emerging risks and opportunities.
  8. Provide timely updates on critical items requiring the Strategy Director’s attention.
  9. Support the delivery of the Strategic Planning programme and manage projects aligned with Canopius Group’s operational priorities.

Skills And Experience

  • Degree-level education.
  • Experience in the Insurance Industry or consulting with insurance clients.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, especially Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Curiosity and passion for innovation and technological advancements, with a strong understanding of emerging trends in insurance.
  • Strong collaborator with the ability to develop and maintain relationships across diverse geographies and cultures.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills, capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven decision-making approach.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
