Job summary

Rolls-Royce SMR is hiring a Workforce Planning Expert on a fixed-term 18-month contract, based in Manchester/ Warrington/ Derby with hybrid working. You will design and govern a rolled workforce plan aligned to budgets and milestones and develop multi-year roadmaps to secure capability and capacity.

Role requires expert capability in analytics, governance and cross‑functional collaboration with Finance, HR and Programme teams. A degree is required and senior leadership engagement is expected.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading strategic workforce planning in a complex, regulated environment.
• Translate strategy into integrated short/medium/long-term workforce plans and advise leaders.
• Deep expertise in capacity, capability, sourcing, cost and scenario modelling.
• Advanced analytics: integrate workforce, finance and programme data; create scenarios.
• Establish governance and enterprise planning standards; influence senior stakeholders.
• Degree-level qualification or equivalent; broad experience in related disciplines.

Responsibilities

• A single, trusted in-year workforce plan aligned to budgets and milestones.
• Rolling 2-3 year workforce forecast and 3-5 year strategic roadmap.
• Integrated view of demand and supply across permanent, contingent, partners.
• Embedded workforce planning through governance and decision forums.
• Translate recommendations into measurable business outcomes.
• Robust models for capacity, cost, sourcing and scenarios.
• Prioritised capability gap and risk register with ownership.
• Sustainable governance and approvals framework with common definitions.
• Actionable workforce intelligence shaping talent acquisition and mobility.
• Improve workforce effectiveness through regular review of utilization.
