Job summary

SCOR seeks an Experienced Development Underwriter to lead underwriting and claims initiatives, partnering with clients to shape strategies and pricing. You will benchmark markets, review client processes, and co-create innovative reinsurance solutions across SCOR teams.

The role emphasizes data-driven decisions, stakeholder management, and thought leadership, with strong collaboration across the underwriting and claims functions in the UK market.

Qualifications

• Experienced Development Underwriter or underwriting/claims leader with significant insurance or reinsurance experience.
• Recent or current Underwriting authorities.
• Experience working cross functionally.
• Holistic view of risk management with understanding of the impact of changes in underwriting and claims on claims experience.
• Strong product, technical and industry knowledge.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Experience in delivering process, philosophy or propositional change.
• Curiosity and a strong desire to support and drive change in underwriting & claims.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, proven track record of building strong relationships.
• Ability to work unsupervised pulling in resources as required.
• Ability to utilise data in key risk management decision making.
• Project management capabilities.
• In depth knowledge of Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with SCOR clients and support underwriting and claims strategies.
• Conduct market benchmarking and share results to drive change in key industry challenges.
• Review client technology, processes and philosophy to optimise risk control and customer journeys.
• Collaborate across SCOR to create innovative reinsurance solutions with clients.
• Use data to identify market trends and opportunities for underwriting and claims developments.
• Review client pricing methodologies for tenders and in-force management.
• Recommend targeted enhancements to support client strategies and risk selection.
