Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd in Bristol is seeking a Senior | Principal Transport Planner to advance from a senior role to principal level within a respected transport planning consultancy. You will lead transport planning commissions from inception to completion, prepare and review Transport Assessments, Statements, and Travel Plans, and provide strategic advice to clients and project teams.

The role requires a related degree, chartered status or progress toward chartership, and strong report

Qualifications

• Relevant degree within Transport Planning or another related discipline.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership.
• Significant experience within a transport planning consultancy or similar environment.
• Strong report writing and analytical skills.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of project budgets and fee management.
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior colleagues would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Leading transport planning commissions from inception through to completion.
• Preparing and reviewing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and other transport-related technical reports.
• Providing strategic transport planning advice to clients and project teams.
• Developing transport strategies for a range of development proposals and land uses.
• Liaising with clients, local planning authorities, highway authorities and other stakeholders.
• Supporting and leading discussions with planning and highway officers to achieve positive outcomes.
• Providing technical input into planning applications, appeals and, where appropriate, public inquiries.
• Managing project programmes, budgets and resources.
• Preparing fee proposals and contributing to business development opportunities.
