Job summary

Lincolnshire County Council is seeking a Strategic Finance Lead (Technical) in Lincoln with CIPFA qualifications or equivalent. The role leads the technical finance function, delivers statutory reporting and advises on governance and accounting issues.

You will manage treasury, capital accounting and related activities, while developing a large finance team and strengthening resilience. The post operates in a hybrid pattern with a permanent, 37-hour week and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• CIPFA-qualified or equivalent accountant with significant local government technical finance expertise.
• Strong technical accounting and financial governance knowledge.
• Experience working with external audit and leading a professional finance team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the closure of the Council's accounts and preparation of the Statement of Accounts.
• Provide expert advice on local authority accounting, governance and technical finance issues.
• Support treasury management, capital accounting and other specialist activities.
• Lead and develop a sizeable professional finance team and strengthen organisational resilience.
• Contribute as an active member of the Finance Leadership Team.
