Job summary

STRABAG SE in Shirley, UK, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor or Site Engineer for a Technical Controlling role that bridges site delivery and financial control. The position combines core professional skills with CPS-aligned financial and operational standards.

You will report into the Technical Controlling function and influence project-level cost management while remaining close to on-site activities to ensure accuracy and value delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience on site with understanding of how projects are built and managed.
• Process-driven yet practical in applying CPS to site challenges.
• Current role as QS or Site Engineer in an engineering main contractor.
• Ambition to move into strategic analysis and reporting.
• HND/Degree in Civil Engineering, QS or related subject.
• Competent with MS-Office products.
• Understanding of cost estimating software, ideally iTWO (training available).

Responsibilities

• Monitor costs, revenue/results, productivity and budgets in real-time to prevent issues.
• Act as the interface between the Project Manager and the Business Unit, translating site activities into accurate financial data.
• Forecast deviations from schedule and cost forecasts using engineering/QS judgment.
• Ensure accuracy of Working Budget and Estimates within iTWO.
• Drive the Feedback Loop to feed lessons learned back to Pre-Construction for better tenders.
