Job summary

Here East seeks a Technology Consultant specializing in Advanced Communications Technologies to lead research and consulting programs. You will map evolving tech, assess risks, and translate findings into actionable client recommendations across telecoms, RF, satellite and related areas.

The role involves cross-functional work, engagement with startups and public-sector stakeholders, and potential national travel.

Qualifications

• Experience in an innovation function, consultancy, technology startup or scaleup, research organisation, telecommunications business or accelerator.
• Experience contributing to research or consulting projects using qualitative and/or quantitative methods and turning evidence into accessible recommendations.
• Awareness of advanced communications markets and technologies such as telecoms, RF, satellite, spectrum or network resilience.
• Experience working with delivery teams and managing inputs across multiple workstreams.
• Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Outside-in perspective on emerging market needs, trends, opportunities and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Shape insights about the future of advanced communications and related emerging technology sectors.
• Design and deliver research and consulting activity for clients, including scoping questions, qualitative/quantitative methods, and presenting findings.
• Create high-impact deliverables to help clients decide on advanced communications and emerging technology strategy.
• Monitor technology trends, market needs and drivers across telecoms, RF, satellite, optics, spectrum and resilience.
• Assess technology propositions, interrogate vendor claims and evaluate risks and trade-offs with rigour.
• Support clients engagement with the emerging tech ecosystem and contribute to public-sector bids and client proposals.
