Job summary

East Sussex County Council in Lewes is inviting applications for a Team Leader in the Assessment and Planning team within the Education Division. You will lead a committed team of Assessment and Planning Officers and work with other Team Leaders and Managers to ensure efficient administration of Education, Health and Care Plans and high-quality casework for children aged 0-13.

Qualifications

• Ability to supervise a team and ensure quality of work.
• Plan and organise workload to meet deadlines.
• Coordinate children and young people's educational needs and monitor progress in EHC plans.
• Anticipate problems and devise workable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Assessment and Planning Officers and work with other Team Leaders and Managers to administer EHC Plans for children aged 0-13.
• Prepare tribunal cases for SENDIST hearings and collaborate with ESCC Legal Team and Tribunal Officers.
• Support SEND reforms in practice and develop partnerships with parents, carers and young people.
• Communicate effectively with diverse audiences to achieve positive outcomes for young people.
