The role
As a Systems Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to assume a key role in Babcock's contribution to the Submarine Strategic Weapons Enterprise

Day-to-day, you’ll play a key part in improving the way we support and manage the submarine weapon systems through operations and overhaul.

  • Assist in the creation of maintenance processes and supporting the review technical documentation to ensure US technical documentation is applicable and appropriate for UK use.
  • Conduct review of plans and programme and ensuring optimisation of processes to meet the UK platform delivery and support schedules.
  • Author of Supportability Management Plans, outlining the UK’s support and transition arrangements.
  • Communicate on a regular basis with internal and external stakeholder to overcome risks, issues, and realise opportunities.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Systems Engineer – Combat Systems

  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • An understanding of Equipment support life cycle management, from cradle to grave.
  • Knowledge of Submarine Strategic Systems activities including programme, policies, procedures, technologies, equipment, support, and operations.
  • Able to operate independently on tasks for which you will be responsible and operate effectively within a varied team dynamic.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
