Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to drive category strategy and lead sourcing initiatives within the capital programme. You will collaborate with Commercial and Procurement colleagues and the wider business to ensure a value-driven approach and compliant processes.

Based in Reading with hybrid working, you will manage cross-functional project teams, deliver on targets, maintain auditable records, and report findings to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strategic sourcing experience within a complex procurement environment.
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and teams.
• Strong stakeholder engagement across internal and external partners.
• Track record of delivering procurement value, cost efficiency and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy development for projects aligned to category strategies.
• Prioritise sourcing initiatives using agile project delivery.
• Guide multidisciplinary teams through the procurement process with stakeholders.
• Maintain audit trails and confidential, traceable supplier information.
• Collaborate on contract launches and handovers to Contract Management.
• Create accurate reports, documents and presentations for leadership.
• Build relationships with the supply market to generate value.
• Ensure timely reporting on sourcing projects with available tools.
• Help develop best practice across the Commercial lifecycle.
• Operate information systems to high standards and ensure compliance.
