Job summary

Leonardo seeks a Solutions Architect with a Defence/CEMA background to shape enterprise and system-level designs for Land CEMA programs. You will work across disciplines to ensure modular, scalable solutions and engage with customers, partners, and stakeholders to build strong relationships.

The role emphasizes strategic thinking, leadership in bids, and mentoring teams, with hybrid UK locations including Southampton, Basildon, or Bristol. An in-depth security framework applies.

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in a STEM subject with strong numerical and design skills.
• Experience in Defence Communications or CEMA architectures across full lifecycle.
• Ability to engage customers at senior commercial/technical levels.
• Experience estimating costs and technical risks for solutions.
• Familiarity with SOSA, LCA, OpenVPX, MORA, OpenCPI, VITA and related standards.
• Experience producing engineering documentation to support tenders.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver CEMA capabilities across enterprise and system levels.
• Lead technical input to bids and campaigns with architecture artifacts.
• Translate customers' needs into clear technical solutions and build relationships.
• Collaborate across disciplines to define solution definitions for defence programmes.
• Support recruitment and mentoring of engineering talent.
