Job summary

Newton Westpark Primary School invites applications for an enthusiastic School Business Manager. You will work with the Headteacher and SLT to set strategic direction, overseeing finance, HR, health & safety, and facilities beyond teaching and learning.

The role includes line management of office staff, site manager and catering staff, with potential SLT involvement for the right candidate. The position is permanent, 37 hours per week, term time plus 4 weeks (42 weeks per year).

Qualifications

• Understanding finance, HR and health and safety requirements in the education sector.
• Experience in a school office or similar environment.
• Ability to work in a team and use initiative to implement improvements.
• Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Manage the school’s financial budget and report to Governors.
• Monitor and report to Governors, the local authority and the Headteacher.
• Oversee HR, health & safety, facilities and administration.
• Line manage office staff, the site manager and catering staff; potential SLT member.
