Job summary

London Luton Airport Operations Limited (LLAOL) seeks an experienced Risk and Compliance Manager to drive risk and compliance across the business. You will develop and enforce policies, advise on regulatory obligations and support the legal team with compliance requirements.

You will engage with internal and external stakeholders, lead training, and foster a strong compliance culture while coordinating audits and governance processes.

Qualifications

• Appropriate risk management and/or compliance experience and/or qualification.
• A good knowledge of data protection law and GDPR.
• A skilled communicator, capable of interacting with the business at all levels, with the necessary credibility and professionalism to influence senior stakeholders.
• Ability to build strong relationships to become a trusted adviser to stakeholders. A positive, can-do and ambitious approach and a commitment to driving continuous improvement.
• The candidate will have a positive outlook and attitude, will be capable of identifying and resolving problems and possess good organizational skills.
• Capable of working on your own initiative as well as providing leadership, guidance and support and being a role model to LLA staff and third-party stakeholders.
• Task-oriented and capable of taking decisive action.
• An adaptable persona willing to learn and encompass new tasks as well as being keen to develop the role and function.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Excellent written & verbal communication and time management skills.
• Ability to see wider, strategic issues and to meet deadlines; and
• Proficient in Word, Powerpoint and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Key point of contact internally and externally on all risk and compliance-related matters for the business.
• Co-ordination and implementation of LLA’s risk and compliance framework, including identifying and implementing any areas for improvement.
• Monitor and identify trends or issues from the business’ risk registers and ensure actions are completed within timeframes.
• Training and supporting internal colleagues on risk identification and risk rating in line with policy.
• Develop, update and ensure compliance with business policies and processes to minimise risk.
• Provide advice on relevant risk and compliance requirements for the business.
• Develop, manage and co-ordinate an internal audit programme.
• Responsibility for LLA’s corporate offence prevention procedures (including Anti-Bribery).
• Training internal colleagues on regulatory compliance, including Anti-Bribery and other offences.
• Drive a strong compliance culture with HR to ensure staff complete mandatory training.
• Work with legal and other departments to identify regulatory changes and ensure compliance.
• Review trackers to ensure compliance with commitments and obligations, with owners and actions.
• Coordinate annual review of legal/regulatory risk matrix and report outcomes to committees.
• Liaise with Aena’s compliance team and prepare reports as required.
• Develop and co-ordinate policy governance framework; support General Counsel as needed.
