Working Pattern:This is a remote field based role which requires regular travel to meet with Clients throughout the UK.

Scottish Widows goal is to retain, develop and grow relationships with the workplace pensions and intermediary market, influencing advisers and clients to help build our business and achieve our challenging market share aspirations.

The role of the Strategic Relationship Manager (SRM) is to develop and manage relationships with our Workplace Pensions clients in order to defend and grow our funds under Management, influence them to place new or additional business with us, secure their support to deliver our workplace strategy and contribute to our market share objectives by retaining and growing their existing schemes with us. This complements our focus to build strong and enduring relationships, acknowledges our evolving market and inspires confidence in our plans to deliver good customer outcomes

What you’ll be doing:

  • Own relationships with the clients in your portfolio. Formulating and implementing effective business plans which achieve franchise growth in the context of a volume environment.
  • Grow and retain a volume base of existing owned schemes, communicating Scottish Widows proposition and digital advancements through effective client communications.
  • Build an understanding of the people, business plans and decision-making behaviour of a volume portfolio of clients in order to leverage growth across the business.
  • Continually develop your knowledge of our Workplace Pensions proposition in order to promote Scottish Widows to an excellent level.
  • You’ll be expected to relationship manage all client contact quickly and efficiently, meeting or exceeding Key Performance Indicators KPI measures and ensuring that a high quality client experience is delivered across your portfolio.
  • You’ll develop client contact strategies for the portfolio to build relationships with the clients and look to establish that relationship for long term benefit to the Group.
  • Build a wide internal network to understand and capitalise on multiple group relationships, skills and resources that may exist for clients. Where identified, supporting RA/Protection colleagues with new business leads or broader Workplace Pension opportunities
  • Build high quality relationships across your volume portfolio and build on the client experience to secure strong Net Promoter Score (NPS) and 5 star advocacy

  • Exceptional relationship management skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Evidence of successfully managing client relationships.
  • Qualified to or significant progress towards Level 4
