Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement within Chemical, Biological, In-Vitro Diagnostic Industry, R&D, Operations, or technical procurement.
• Professional negotiation skills and experience.
• Advanced technical skills to assess suppliers’ technical innovations and solve complex problems.
• Leadership and teamwork skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills at all levels, internal and with suppliers.
• Global mindset and good networking skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%, including internationally.

Responsibilities

• Manage a small procurement team.
• Develop and implement efficient forms and procedures to detect areas for rationalization and increase profitability.
• Oversee resources and ensure competences.
• Implement Siemens strategy, initiatives, and regulations.
• Derive material field strategies based on market intelligence and procurement processes.
• Coordinate demand pooling and supplier management to maximize profit contributions.
• Drive cost and value optimization through technical levers.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure transparency and early integration.
• Foster cross-functional alignment across commodities and businesses.
• Lead virtual/line management to achieve savings and alignment.
• Define commodity structure, organization, and strategy; implement productivity measures.
• Communicate strategies to ensure long-term, cost-efficient supply of materials.
• Negotiate frame contracts and document in supplier management IT systems.
• Share procurement information with project participants to keep everyone up to date.
• Identify procurement risks and opportunities; manage risk and change.
• Perform supplier development to obtain best suppliers and optimize supply chain.
• Involve in product development/manufacturing to drive cost reductions (DTC, target costing, standardization).
• Contribute to cost-benefit, innovation, and concept workshops with key suppliers.
• Follow up on cross-functional procurement strategies linking internal and external trends.
• Execute supplier negotiations, contracts, and management for local and business suppliers.
• Prepare and drive cross-functional sourcing decisions with interfaces.
