Job summary

RA Dalton Ltd is seeking a Purchasing and Material Coordinator to source, select and purchase goods and services at competitive prices to meet business needs. This role relies on negotiation, market analysis and advanced Excel to manage supplier relationships and spend.

You will work across stock locations and with other departments, ensuring accurate records in the ERP system. The position is based at our Cowshill office with possible flexibility to Crook for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in purchasing and stock control.
• Advanced Excel skills for analysing ERP financial data.
• Experience with computerised purchasing or stock control systems.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail with stock, supplier and delivery records.
• Confident communicating with suppliers and colleagues from multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to ensure smooth warehouses supplying engineers.
• Place and manage purchase orders for site items, stock parts and consumables.
• Negotiate pricing, bulk discounts and delivery terms with suppliers.
• Manipulate data and produce reports to aid negotiations.
• Retain purchase and stock records in the financial system.
• Maintain cost prices and update sales prices with relevant teams.
• Assist with routine stock checks and update internal systems.
