Alexander Daniels Finance Recruitment is partnering with a well-established engineering and project-based business to recruit an experienced Purchasing Manager in Nottingham. You will own purchasing operations, supplier management, inventory control, and procurement strategy across UK and international supply chains.

The role focuses on leading the purchasing function, optimizing costs, and ensuring timely sourcing to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

• Significant experience within Procurement, Purchasing, or Supply Chain Management.
• Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management.
• Experience in engineering, manufacturing, construction, infrastructure, energy, or project-based environments.
• Knowledge of inventory management and stock control.
• Experience managing procurement budgets and expenditure.
• Excellent organisational, prioritisation, and deadline skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Purchasing Department with effective processes and controls.
• Oversee procurement across UK and international suppliers.
• Drive supplier performance via negotiation and evaluation.
• Manage onboarding, KPIs, and performance reviews.
• Collaborate with Finance on POs, invoices, payments.
• Support inventory and stock control with operational teams.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
• Develop internal relationships with finance, ops, and project teams.
