Job summary

Groomfield Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Purchasing Coordinator to join a busy manufacturing operation in Tamworth.

You will manage raw materials, consumables and stock levels, place and track purchase orders, and build strong supplier relationships to meet production demand.

This hands-on role requires cost-conscious negotiation, inventory control and close collaboration with production, technical and sales teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on purchasing role managing raw materials, consumables and supplier relationships.
• Experience ensuring materials meet production demand while controlling costs.
• Proven ability to manage stock levels and supplier performance.

Responsibilities

• Manage raw materials and consumable inventory to meet production requirements.
• Place and manage purchase orders to ensure material availability without surplus.
• Monitor outstanding orders and liaise with suppliers on delivery dates and lead times.
• Maintain replenishment parameters, lead times and pricing within the system.
• Carry out stock takes and investigate stock discrepancies.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and delivery with suppliers.
• Report stock levels and purchasing issues to management.
• Collaborate with technical and production teams on new product development.
