Job summary

Dumfries and Galloway Council is seeking a proactive Procurement Officer to join the Finance and Procurement team. You will drive procurement exercises across services, provide commercial advice, and develop strategies that deliver best value and sustainable outcomes.

Applicants should bring MCIPS or a degree-level qualification, extensive procurement experience, and strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills. The role offers flexible and hybrid working within the Council.

Qualifications

• Educated to SCQF Level 9 (degree level) or equivalent.
• Significant procurement experience in the public sector.
• Experience leading procurement activity and tendering exercises.
• Knowledge of public sector procurement legislation and governance.

• Lead and support procurement exercises for goods, services and works.
• Provide professional procurement advice to stakeholders.
