Job summary
Smiths (Gloucester) Ltd, a family-owned civil engineering and groundworks contractor, is seeking an experienced Project Planner to join the Gloucester head office. You will develop and maintain construction programmes, manage critical paths and support project teams from tender through to delivery.
The role involves coordinating with contracts managers, site teams and senior management, producing progress reports, and contributing to programme certainty, efficiency and profitability on a diverse
Qualifications
- Proven experience producing and managing construction programmes.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret drawings and technical information.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed construction programmes using industry-standard planning software.
- Produce NEC-compliant programmes and recovery plans as needed.
- Monitor project progress and update programmes with live site information.
- Attend site visits and progress meetings with Contracts Managers and Site Teams.
- Support tender and pre-construction planning with phasing and logistics plans.
- Provide reporting, KPI data and programme dashboards for management.
