Job summary

Matchtech Group is supporting a rapidly growing advanced manufacturing client in the Greater London area with a need for a proactive Production Planner. You will own production scheduling, capacity planning and manufacturing coordination to translate demand into feasible schedules while balancing capacity, materials, and delivery requirements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Production Planning or similar role in manufacturing.
• Experience in manufacturing environments with routings, lead times and WIP.
• Ability to manage multiple schedules and priorities simultaneously.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, production planning software and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed production schedules across multiple work centres.
• Sequence orders based on capacity, materials, routings and due dates.
• Monitor WIP and adjust schedules as priorities change.
• Assess capacity constraints in machines, labour, tooling, inspection or subcontract services.
• Support delivery commitments with realistic lead times and forecasts.
• Coordinate materials, drawings, tooling and inspection requirements for readiness.
• Identify bottlenecks and provide practical recovery plans.
• Align material deliveries with production needs with Procurement.
• Maintain scheduling data within ERP/MRP and production management systems.
• Track metrics: schedule adherence, on-time delivery, utilisation, WIP.
• Develop long-term capacity plans to support growth and demand.
• Drive continuous improvement to improve planning accuracy and efficiency.
