Job summary

Prime Appointments Recruitment Agency is seeking an experienced Production Planner for an established engineering and manufacturing environment in Braintree, Essex. You will work with Production, Customer Services and Sales to plan and coordinate manufacturing activities to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities include developing and reviewing manufacturing routes, estimating material and production requirements, planning labour and machine capacity, and ensuring ERP documentation

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is required.
• Experience in production or manufacturing planning and scheduling.
• Understanding of production labour and machine planning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to liaise effectively with multiple departments.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Good problem-solving ability with a proactive approach.
• High level of computer literacy.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Production, Customer Services and Sales to understand requirements and priorities.
• Estimate material usage and coordinate procurement of subcontract engineering services.
• Review and implement routes of manufacture.
• Estimate machining and manufacturing times for production operations.
• Support production scheduling to meet customer delivery requirements.
• Plan production labour and machine capacity.
• Produce and maintain route cards, works orders and requisitions.
• Monitor production plans and identify potential delivery issues.
• Develop understanding of organisational structure and processes to suggest improvements.
• Contribute to ERP process improvements.
