Job summary

Kardow in Wickford, Essex is seeking an experienced Procurement & Supply Chain Manager to own procurement, supplier relationships and inventory strategy across the business.

Reporting to the MD and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead a small team, negotiate with overseas suppliers, drive cost improvements, manage lead times and stock levels, and partner with Finance, Operations and Sales to improve margins and service levels.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement within manufacturing or distribution.
• Ability to manage overseas suppliers and large purchasing spend.
• Strong negotiation and supplier-management skills.
• Experience leading a small procurement team.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop the procurement and supply chain strategy across manufactured and factored products.
• Lead supplier selection, negotiation, contracts and performance management, including overseas suppliers.
• Manage purchasing spend, pricing, freight, lead times and supplier terms.
• Own inventory parameters, forecasting and safety-stock policy.
• Drive down excess, slow-moving and obsolete stock and mitigate risks.
