Job summary

ABB Emergency Lighting in Leeds seeks a Procurement professional to lead end-to-end supply chain activities, focusing on plastics and electronics. You will develop sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and optimize costs while ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

The role involves hybrid work from the Leeds site (4 days on-site) with travel up to 40% for supplier visits and cross-team collaboration across EMEA, aligning with ABB standards and governance practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Certification such as CIPS or working towards this.
• Strong procurement experience in manufacturing, plastics and electronics with Budget & Performance Management.
• Experience in developing and executing strategic plans to drive company growth and achieve long-term objectives.
• Contract management: handle negotiations, drafting, and management to ensure compliance and favourable terms.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with a proven background of supplier management.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end full life cycle supply chain management.
• Execute purchasing and logistics strategies to optimize costs, quality, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products.
• Design sourcing plans to reach business targets.
• Support EMEA Procurement Manager with implementing effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy to meet current and future business requirements.
• Drive alignment between Business Line procurement activities and division Category Team and strategy.
• Apply and implement procurement standards, tools, and processes to secure quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability.
• Track procurement processes and create/update reports following ABB standards.
• Resolve issues related to procurement cost, quality, and delivery promptly.
• Proactively implement governance to track internal and supplier KPIs, quality issues, and related development actions.
• Execute changes related to purchasing and logistics within their own area of responsibility.
• Ensure effective and transparent communication internally, externally, and between units.
• Support and contribute to Budget development.
• Develop and drive cost reduction plans to meet Business goals.
• Proactively manage supplier base for leverage and risk.
