Job summary

Metro Bank Plc is seeking a procurement professional to lead cross-category initiatives within banking IT and operations. The role focuses on high-value sourcing, contract negotiations, and stakeholder engagement across Legal, Risk and Finance.

You will plan major procurement projects, build matrix teams, and develop innovative cost models while ensuring compliance and value delivery. Hybrid working options are available around role and home life.

Qualifications

• Experience in cross-category procurement within banking, including IT/tech.
• Experience in Financial Services—banking processes, systems and operations.
• Knowledge of full procurement lifecycle.
• Experience developing, reviewing and negotiating high-value, complex contracts.
• Experience influencing stakeholders in a matrix environment.
• Strong knowledge of supplier markets and market research.
• Experience in formal sourcing and RFx.
• Ability to develop contract cost models over up to 10 years.
• Contract and supplier risk assessment experience.
• Managing complex, cross-functional projects and presenting to executive management.
• CIPS qualification desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan major procurement projects including high-value, high-risk sourcing.
• Build and lead diverse matrix teams to meet tight schedules.
• Develop specifications for best-of-breed technology and services.
• Conduct supplier market analysis and benchmarking.
• Identify and select top suppliers.
• Negotiate complex deals in competitive environments.
• Model contract finances and develop innovative deal structures.
• Negotiate contract terms with suppliers' legal teams.
• Avoid commercial and risk pitfalls in contracting.
• Influence executives; represent business owners in negotiations.
• Coordinate inputs from Legal, Risk, Finance, InfoSec and other senior stakeholders.
• Track savings, cost avoidance and value.
